Ahmad Shah
Durani (or as he is also known Ahmad Shah Baba) is the founder of today's
Afghanistan. He was the King of Afghanistan from 1747-1772 AD
Timur
Shah was the second king of Afghanistan. He was king from 1772-1793 During
his time Kabul became the capital of Afghanistan

Loynab
Shirdel was the Governer General of Afghan Turkestsan. He was killed on 27
June 1878 in Mazar e Sharif and buried in surrounding wall of Ali mausoleum.
King
Mohamad Yaqub was one of the most infamous rulers of Afghanistan. He ruled
from 1879 to 1880. He was responsible for signing the "Gandemak"
treaty, as result giving more land to British India.
Although King
Mohamad Ayub Khan ruled
Afghanistan for less than one year in 1880, he became famous for wining the
"Maiwand" battle where the British suffered their highest casualties.
King Abdul
Rahman Khan ruled Afghanistan from 1880 to 1901.
During his time Afghanistan lost even more land to British India and Russian
Empire.During his kingdom Afghanistan took its present shape.
King Habibulah
Khan ruled Afghanistan
from 1901 to 1919.
Amanulah
Khan after becoming king in 1919. It was under hist
time when Afghanistan finaly claimed independence from Great Britian. He was
Afghanistan King until 1929. King Amanulah tried to unite Afghans after
succesfuly defeating the British Empire. King Amanullah went on many
offficial visits to other countries.
King Mohamad
Nadir Shah ruled Afghanistan from October 1930 to November 1933.

Zahir Shah ruled Afghanistan from 1933 to 1973
President Sardar
Mohamad Daud Khan claimed Afghanistan republic on 17 July 1973. He remained
the president until his assasination on 17 April 1978.
Dr.Najeebulah.
Born in 1947 in Kabul, He was the head of Afghan Secret Service (KAD) before he
was appointed by the Soviets as the President in May 1986. He later downplayed
Marxist ideology and annulled most of the early "reforms." He took
refuge at the UN Office when the Mujahadeen took over Kabul in 1992. He was
beaten to death by Taliban in 1996.
Sibghatullah
Mojadeddi was the acting President of Afghanistan soon after the
Communist backed Afghan Government colapsed (April 1992- Oct. 1993). He was the
first head of government of Mujaheddin Council from April 1992 to October 1994.
Prof.
Burhanuddin Rabbani was elected the President of Islamic Republic of
Afghanistan in October 1993. He fled Kabul in Sept 1996 after the Pakistani
backed Taliban took over Kabul. He is still recognised as the President of
Afghanistan at the United Nations
Mulah Mohamad Omar. The supreme and spiritual leader of the Taliban Islamic movement. He is the founder of Taliban militia which sprang out of Kandahar in 1994. His main aim is to deprive women of their basic humanitarian need.
